Tanzanian champions Young Africans are set to unleash Uganda Cranes defender Gift Fred on their annual Yanga Day slated for Saturday 22th July at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
The former SC Villa captain is expected to feature in the friendly game against South Africa’s Kaizer Chiefs later on the same day.
Gift recently joined Yanga on a three year contract in a free transfer after his contract with SC Villa expired at the end of last season.
Gift’s fellow countryman Khalid Aucho has already joined the Yanga camp ahead of the big day celebrations which officially make the start of the new season for the Tanzanian giants.
Yanga are expected to unveil all their new season ahead of what is expected to be another competitive football season.
They are expected to bid farewell to their Congolese talisman Fiston Mayele who is reportedly on his way to Egypt’s Pyramids FC.
Yanga won a domestic treble for the last two seasons and finished as losing finalists in the CAF Confederation Cup last season.
It should be noted, Yanga invited Vipers during last year’s Yanga Day celebrations and the Venoms won 2-0 courtesy of goals from Milton Karisa and Bright Anukani.
