2023 MASAZA CUP: Kyadondo stun Buddu as holders Busiro register first win

Nine games were played on match day four of the 2023 Masaza Cup competition at various grounds over the weekend.

In Masengere Group, Kyadondo stunned Buddu with a 1-0 victory at Masaka Recreation grounds on Sunday.

Derrick Walugembe scored the all important goal as Kyadondo registered back to back wins.

Kyaggwe and Buwekula played to a 1-1 draw in the other game played in Masengere Group. Earnest Ankunda gave the visitors Buwekula in the first period before Yusuf Mukwana levelled matters for the home side.

Also in the same group, Buluuli beat Kooki 2-1.

In Muganzirwa Group, holders Busiro recorded their first win of the campaign with a 1-0 win over Mawogola at Wakissha Playground on Sunday.

Busiro’s starman Akram Muzanyi scored the only of the contest to give relief to under pressure Ibrahim Kirya.

Mawokota and Ssese played to a goalless stalemate in the other Muganzirwazza Group game at Buwama while five time winners Gomba powered 2-0 past Kabula at Kabulasoke playgrounds.

Samuel Lukoye and Patrick Mugisha scored the two goals for Felix Ssekabuza coached side Gomba.

In Bulange Group, Stuart Kezaala scored a brace as Buvuma humbled Bugerere on Saturday.

Two time winners Ssingo returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Butambala at Mityana Ssaza Grounds on Sunday.

Still in Bulange ground, Elvis Ssekajugo netted a brace for Ssingo in the first period before Charles Ssekandi found a consolation for Butambala early in the second half.

Bulemeezi beat Busujju 1-0 courtesy of a Dickson Odeke sole strike.
