Uganda prevailed 85-83 to pull off one of the greatest shocks in African basketball history.
Jannon Otto (21) and Jane Asinde (20) both contributed 41 points as the Gazelles recorded a stunning win.
Lydia Babirye scored clutch points to seal victory for the Gazelles.
The Gazelles played out of their skins to secure the unthinkable victory in Kigali.
The 11-time Afrobasket champions Senegal came into the game as favourites basing on their history and quality.
But at the end of the contest, there were huge celebrations from Ugandan coaches, players and fan for the remarkable victory.
Uganda came into the game after suffering a 66-80 defeat to West African country Mali in their first Group C game on Friday.
Despite the defeat over Mali Alberto Antuna coached side had a few flashes of genius, notably through Jannon Otto, who scored 19 points and 7 rebounds.
