NEC set to sign former Vipers and SC Villa striker

New Uganda Premier league entrants NEC are closer to securing the services of former Vipers SC and SC Villa striker Pius Wangi.

Wangi is currently a free agent following the expiration of his employment contract at Rwanda’s Sunrise.

Swift Sports Uganda understands that he is close to agreeing personal terms with NEC.

Kitara and URA were also interested in Wangi’s services.

Wangi has featured for Sunrise for the last four seasons, he joined the side at the start of the 2019/20 season from SC Villa.

He has previously featured for Vipers SC where he won the 2017/18 Uganda Premier league title and 2016 Uganda Cup trophy before he joined SC Villa.

Wangi also played for St.Mary’s Secondary School Kitende winning several schools’ football championships.

Meanwhile, NEC have already unveiled three players in Isaac Balyejusa who was signed from Luweero United, defender Ronald Ogenga Owiny from Calvary and Allan Mugalu from Arua Hill.

NEC FC have also confirmed the return of Sharif Lubega who was on loan at Kampala Regional League side Black Star FC.
