Okhuti named new Onduparaka coach

FUFA Big League side Onduparaka FC have named their former player Ceasar Okhuti Samson as their new coach ahead of the upcoming season.

Okhuti replaces Steven Bogere who was the club’s head coach before he left the role in the closing stages of last season.

Okhuti is a CAF C License holder and currently coaches West Nile in the ongoing FUFA Drum tournament.

He played for Onduparaka on two spells, one before gaining topflight promotion and another during the 2017-18 season after he had left KCCA FC.

He also played for Bunamwaya (Vipers SC), Express FC, Ediofe Hills, Arua Hill and had stints in Vietnam and South Sudan.

The former Cranes striker officially retired from football in 2021 after guiding Arua Hill to the topflight league and embarked on pursuing a coaching career at the club thereafter.

His immediate task is to guide Onduparaka back to the topflight league after the club suffered relegation from the Uganda Premier League last season.

He is expected to embark on a recruitment process in a sense that a big number of players expected to leave the club.
