Ugandan long distance runner Jacob Kiplimo will miss the 2023 World Athletics Championships due in Budapest, Hungary.
The World Athletics Championship in Hungary are slated for 19-27th August.
Kiplimo a multiple champion was set to run the 10000m and 5000m. He sustained an acute hamstring injury on August 1, can only recover in more than 4 weeks.
At the Oregon USA Championship, Kiplimo clinched bronze in 10000m race that was won by compatriot Joshua Cheptegei.
The onus will now be on multiple World Champion Cheptegei to inspire Uganda to glory in Budapest.
