Seven times Uganda Premier league champions Express FC are in advanced talks with attacker Umar Kyebatala.
Kyebatala is currently a free agent after he was released by Vipers SC at the end of last season.
This website understands that Red Eagles’ head coach James Odoch is keen on adding the attacker in his squad and the deal is close to reaching a compromise.
Kyebatala spent last season at Luzira based side Maroons FC on loan from Vipers SC.
Kyebatala is a former St.Mary’s Secondary school Kitende(SMASK) student whom he helped to the 2019 Copa Coca-cola and FEASSSA triumphs in Jinja and Arusha respectively. He also featured for Kibuli SS in the schools’ competitions before joining SMASK.
Express have already signed Emmanuel Paul Wasswa (on loan from KCCA), Andrew “Sergent” Kawooya(from KCCA FC), Seif Batte who joined from arch-rivals Sports Club Villa and Alpha Ssali from Proline FC.
The other new signings at the Wankulukuku based side are Isaac Wagoina, Brian Majwega, Ashraf Mbaziira and Martin Ssenkooto.
The Red Eagles officially began their pre-season training last week at the Coffee playground in Bugolobi.
