Former Vipers SC midfieder joins AS Vita

Former Vipers SC Midfielder Olivier Osomba has joined Democratic Republic of Congo’s AS Vita.

Osomba was released by Vipers SC in June after just one season at Kitende and now returns to his native for redemption.

Osomba joined Vipers SC from Burundi’s Aigie Noir Makamba at start of the 2022/23 season.

He joins AS Vita on a two year employment contract.

At Vipers SC, Osomba is remembered for scoring the last penalty that sent the Ugandan side into the CAF Champions league group stages.

He also won a Cup double (Uganda Premier league and Stanbic Uganda Cup) with the Venoms last season before he was released.

Meanwhile, his new side bowed out of the CAF Champions league at the first Preliminary round. They lost to Angola’s Premeiro de Agosto 2-1 on aggregate.
