Kawempe Muslim won the Girls Football title as the 2023 Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Associations (FEASSSA) games climaxed in Huye, Rwanda.
Kawempe beat Kenya’s Wiyeta 2-0 in the anticipated final courtesy of goals from Crested Cranes forwards Shakira Nyinagahirwa and Hadija Nandago.
The victory made it three East African titles for Kawempe Muslim, with the first one coming in 2012 in Bujumbura under the captaincy of Sandra Nabweteme.
Their second title was in 2019 when they beat Mukono High School in Arusha courtesy of Nyinagahirwa’s all important goal.

To reach this year’s final, Kawempe beat Amus College 2-1 in the semi-final thanks to goals from Samalie Nakacwa and Hadija Babirye.
Wiyeta beat Uganda’s St. Noah 2-1 in the other semi final which was also a repeat of last year’s final.
St. Noah Zzana comprehensively beat Amus College 4-0 to finish third in the third place in the playoff.
