Six ruled out for Villa ahead of league opener against Kitara

SC Villa will miss up to six key players in their league opener against Kitara FC on Friday at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku.

Ivan Sserubiri will not make the squad due to lack of fitness after he has just returned to the team’s training.

Defender Edward Masembe and versatile player Denis Ojara are definitely out, while Ronald Ssekiganda is still struggling with an injury that he picked while featuring for his Ngoonge clan in the Bika Bya Baganda football final last month.

Another player who will be unavailable against Kitara is left back Joseph Kafumbe due a muscle issue.

Jonah Kakande(knee injury) and Lutalo Umar (hamstring ) are also out of the contest.

New signings Gavin Kizito Mugweri, Elvis Ngonde, Abas Kyeyune, Hakim Kiwanuka, Diego Ssemugera, Charles Lwanga are all expected to feature against Kitara.

Team captain Kenneth Semakula also returns to the side after missing the FUFA Super 8 third place playoff game against KCCA FC due to national team engagements

The 16 time Uganda Premier league champions under the stewardship of Serbian tactician Dusan Stojanovic will be seeking to kickoff their campaign with maximum points against Brian Ssenyondo’s Kitara.
