Big League side Mbale Heroes have unveiled former Solitilo Bright Stars tactician Asaph Mwebaze as their new head coach.
This website earlier reported that Mwebaze was due to take over reigns at Mbale after successful negotiations with the club.
The role fell vacant following the departure of Abbey Bogere Kikomeko who joined BUL FC in June after guiding Mbale Heroes to the second tier of Ugandan football last season.
“We are absolutely delighted to introduce our new coach, Asaph Mwebaze, who will steer our team towards unprecedented success.”
“We eagerly anticipate an exhilarating journey marked by unwavering commitment, seamless teamwork, and a string of triumphs.” Read a club statement
Last season, Mwebaze was at the helms of Bright Stars whom he led to the Semifinal of the Uganda Cup and helped them finish 9th in the league before the club relieved him of his duties.
At Mbale Heroes his major role will be to guide the side to the topflight division.
He has previously managed at Maroons FC, Onduparaka FC, Nyamityobora FC and the Soccer Shots Houston Texas U-17 Academy.
