The Masaza Cup competition will resume with the first legs of the Quarterfinal stage on Saturday, 16th September.

Kyadondo will entertain Buddu in the first leg at Hormisdallen playgrounds.

The two sides were in the same of this year’s Masaza Cup competition. Both were in Masengere Group.

Buddu finished second in the group that was topped by Buwekula while Kyadondo finished third.

Kyadondo cruised to this phase as one of the best two third placed teams while a second place finish was enough to send Buddu into the Quarterfinals.

This is the third time that the two teams are facing off this year. Kyadondo managed to beat Buddu 1-0 at Masaka Recreation ground in the Group stage game before playing out to a 1-1 draw at Hormisdallen.

Buddu are two time competition winners having won the championship in 2016 and 2021. They have also played three consecutive finals.

Kyadondo have only won the competition once in 2008.

Buddu have beefed up their squad with Bika football top scorer Shakibu Mayanja and Richard Ssonko.

Elsewhere, three time winners Mawokota will travel to Buvuma on Saturday.

On Sunday, record winners Gomba will battle two time winners Ssingo at Kabulasoke playgrounds while Bulemeezi will host Buwekula at Kasana playground in Luweero.
