CAF Confederation Cup: KCCA FC eye first leg advantage Libya’s Abu Salem

KCCA FC will be seeking a positive start to their CAF Confederation Cup campaign when they take on Libya’s Abu Salem in the second preliminary round of the competition.

The two sides will face off at the Rades Stadium in Tunisia on Sunday evening.

To reach this stage, Salem eliminated Olympic de Beja of Tunisia while KCCA FC received a bye to this stage.

KCCA FC under the stewardship of Portuguese tactician Sergio Traguil represents the nation after finishing in second place last season with Vipers SC clinching a Cup double.

Vipers however who represented the nation in the CAF Champions league were eliminated by Botswana side Jwaneng Galaxy at the first Preliminary round leaving KCCA.

Following the elimination of Vipers, the onus is now on KCCA FC to advance further in the CAF Confederation Cup.

In 2017, KCCA FC prevailed to the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup and also made it to the CAF Champions league groups in 2018.

The aggregate winner between KCCA FC and Abu Salem after two legs will seal a place to the group stage of the competition.
