Uganda Cricket Association confirms resignation of Chairman and CEO

The Uganda Cricket Association secretariat has confirmed the resignation of the Chairman and Chief Executive officer.

The Chairman of the board Michael Nuwagaba has resigned from his position but he will serve until the 16th/10/2023.

Nuwagaba replaced Bashir Ansasira whose term had ended in 2021.

CEO Alan Mugume has tendered his resignation and is on notice for three months until 11th/12/2023. He has served as CEO since July 2022 when he replaced Martin Ondeko.

Rita Kibirige who has been serving as the Finance Manager of the association got a new opportunity and left her role early this month.

“We would like to assure members of the cricket fraternity, sports lovers, the public, and our stakeholders that there is no crisis at the Uganda Cricket Association. The organization is only going through a leadership change.”

“The process to fill these gaps has already started and more details will be shared as and when they
are available.
We thank the above-mentioned persons for their dedication to Uganda Cricket and we wish them all.”

Said UCA in a letter from the Secretary Jackson Kavuma

 

Meanwhile, the Uganda Cricket Association has also decided not to renew the contract of the Cricket Cranes Head Coach Laurence Mahatlane, he will leave his role on 31st/10/2023 when his contract runs out.
