UPDF FC 1-1 Mbarara City

There was nothing to separate between UPDF FC and Mbarara City as both sides settled for a 1-1 in the Monday kick-off at Bombo.

Mbarara City who missed their suspended coach Wasswa Bbosa, named the same starting line up that beat KCCA FC in their previous game.

Following a barren first half, Henry Kitegenyi broke the deadlock in the 49th minute but Robert Eseru equalized moments later.

Kitegenyi received a brilliant defense splitting pass from Sadat Nsubuga to slot the ball past UPDF keeper Simon Mabuya.

Six minutes later, the home side equalized through Robert Eseru who fired home a powerful free kick from the edge of the box.

The Ankole Lions had a glorious chance to win the game when Joseph Akandwanaho went one on one with the keeper but failed to hit target in the 89th minute.

The draw took Mbarara City to 12 points from 12 games played while UPDF remained third from the bottom with nine points.

UPDF will visit Soltilo Bright Stars in their next game on 22nd December while Mbarara City will host Kitara on 20th December at Kakyeeka.

The Uganda Premier League match day 11 will continue with two games on Tuesday as Express visit Kitara while KCCA host Soltilo Bright Stars in a 7pm kick off.
