Buddu and Gomba eye semifinals as Buwekula seek vengeance over Bulemeezi

The 2023 Masaza Cup Quarterfinal stage will climax on Sunday with the return legs at various grounds.

Buddu who carry a first leg advantage over Kyadondo will be seeking to secure a place in the Semifinal when the two side face off at Masaka Recreation ground.

Buddu beat Kyadondo 2-1 in the first leg meeting at Hormisdallen playground in the game that ended in controversies.

With the away goal scrapped off, Buddu need to win or draw to advance while a 1-0 win for Kyadondo will send the tie into penalties.

During the group stage meeting, Kyadondo maximized points at Masaka Recreation ground with a 1-0 win.

In the other game, record Gomba will travel to Ssingo with a 3-1 first leg advantage.

Ssingo who have had a perfect record at Mityana Ssaza Ground need to beat Gomba 3-0 to cruise to the Semifinals but a 2-0 win for them sends the game into penalties.

At Buwama, Mawokota will welcome Buvuma in the return leg. The first leg meeting ended in a goalless draw at the soggy Magyo playground.

Any win for either side secures a slot in the semis.

The other Quarterfinal will see Buwekula host two time winners Bulemeezi at St.Peters Technical in Mubende.

In the first leg contest, both sides settled for a barren stalemate at Kasana playground.

Last season, Bulemeezi eliminated Buwekula at this stage 1-0 on aggregate.

Meanwhile, the winner between Buddu and Kyadondo will face the winner in the Quarterfinal between Ssingo and Gomba in the Semifinal.

Whereas the winner between Buwekula and Bulemeezi will battle the victor between Mawokota and Buvuma in the other Semifinal.
