SC Villa will be seeking to bounce back from their 2-1 defeat against Kitara in the opening when they travel to Maroons FC on Sunday.
They face a side that humbled Wakiso Giants 3-0 away from home last weekend.
SC Villa tactician Dusan Stojanovic asserted that they are well prepared for the contest
“We havee had an intense preparation period leading up to tomorrow’s match. Our strategy remains focused on our strengths – a balanced attack, solid defense, and disciplined teamwork. We’ve worked on our style and are ready to adapt as needed during the game.”
On the growing list of injuries
“Injuries are part of the game, and we’ve had our fair share. However, we’ve got a deep squad, and we’ve made the necessary adjustments. Some players have recovered, and we’ll make decisions on the starting lineup closer to kickoff. We’re confident in the abilities of all our players.” Said the Serbian tactician
The Jogoos will be without their striker Charles Lwanga with an ankle injury he sustained in the defeat to Kitara. Lwanga was the scorer of SC Villa’s goal in that game.
The good news for the record Uganda Premier league champions is that players Umar Lutalo, Ronald Ssekiganda and Patrick Jonah Kakande are available for selection after recovering from injury.
SC Villa has managed 4 wins, lost once in the previous nine meetings with Maroons with four games ending in stalemates.
Last season, Maroons needed a Ronald Orombi goal to prevail over the Jogoos.
