SC Villa beat Vipers to Serbian tactician’s signature

Uganda Premier league champions SC Villa have beaten Vipers SC to the signature of Serbian tactician Momcilo Medic.

Swift Sports Uganda understands that new Vipers SC head coach Nikola Kavazovic had recommended the club to hire Medic as his immediate assistant.

Vipers SC President Dr Lawrence Mulindwa revealed last week during unveiling of Kavazovic, that they were to add another assistant coach and video analyst on the recommendation of the coach.

Kavazovic had recommended his compatriot Medic who has now opted to work as Dusan Stojanovic’s assistant at Uganda Premier league champions SC Villa on a short term employment, pending official confirmation.

He joins SC Villa technical staff that also has former KCCA FC head coach Morley Byekwaso.

Medic has previously served as head coach at Burundi’s Club Flambeau du Centre, Royal Eagles and Tshakuma in South Africa, Messager in Burundi, Dynamos in Zimbabwe, King Faisal and Ashanti Gold in Ghana, and Royal Knights and Royal Sportive in South Africa and Ghana, respectively.

He also worked as assistant coach at South Africa’s Orlando Pirates in the capacity of assistant coach.

SC Villa returned to training last week ahead of their preparations for the forthcoming CECAFA Kagame Cup due in Zanzibar from July 6th to 22nd.
