Maroons FC ended Kitara FC’s perfect start with a 1-0 victory at Masindi Municipal Stadium on Wednesday.
Brian Ssenyondo coached side had won their opening five league fixtures this campaign against SC Villa, UPDF FC, Gaddafi FC, KCCA FC and Wakiso Giants.
Fred Amaku second half strike was enough to see Maroons return to winning ways.
The Luzira based side came into this contest back of a 1-1 draw with URA FC and had also lost 3-0 away to leaders BUL FC.
Kitara’s on form striker Denis Omedi had his penalty saved by Maroons custodian Hannington Sebwalunyo in the 89th minute after David Ndihabwe had fouled substitute Jude Semugabi in the forbidden area.
Omedi also had his effort from a free kick hit the post moments later.
Paul Mucureezi also squandered a golden opportunity for the hosts in the first period.
Despite the defeat, Kitara stay second on the Uganda Premier league table with 15 points while Maroons are sixth with 11 points in six games.
Kitara next travel to URA FC next week while Maroons will entertain wounded NEC.
