The Quarterfinal stage of the 2023 Buganda Masaza Cup climaxed on Sunday with the return leg games at various grounds.

At Masaka Recreation ground, Kyadondo did not turn up for the return leg contest against Buddu.

Earlier last week, Kyadondo through their management Committee General Secretary David Kalibbala notified the Masaza Cup organizing committee that they were not to honour the return leg following the controversies in the first leg meeting.

Kyadondo claimed that match officials led by Joshua Duula were below standards.

Buddu won the first leg 2-1 at Hormisdallen playground and will progress to the Semifinal.

Meanwhile, two time competition winners Bulemeezi stunned 2023 favourites Buwekula 2-1 away from home to progress to the semis.

George Masembe brace silenced Buwekula in the game that was played at St.Peters technical in Mubende.

Sharafah Mukiibi scored had given Buwekula an early lead from the spot but it was not enough to send them into the last four.

This was also their first defeat in this year’s competition.
