Uganda U20 Women’s National team, Queen Cranes cruised to the next round of the FIFA U20 World Cup qualifiers afters overcoming Mozambique.
Ayub Khalifah Kiyingi coached side beat Mozambique 2-0 in the return leg at Njeru Technical centre on Friday.
The Queen Cranes came into the return leg leading 6-0 courtesy of their first leg at Campo da ABB Stadium.
After the two legs, Uganda prevailed to the next round of Qualification 8-0 on aggregate.
In the return leg, Khalifah’s troops needed first half goals from Phionah Nabulime and Agnes Nabukenya to complete a double over Mozambique.
Nabulime gave Queen Cranes an early lead in the sixth minute before Nabukenya doubled their advantage in the 19th minute.
Uganda’s win in the second leg may not have been as emphatic as their magnificent 6-0 first leg victory away from home but the gulf between the sides was certainly as wide.
Meanwhile, the Queen Cranes will face either Senegal or Benin in the next round.
