Italian Women Serie A side Napoli Femminile has completed the signing of Ugandan forward Violah Nambi Ssebunya as a free agent from Pomigliano CF.
Last season Nambi featured for Pomigliano in the Serie A before the club was eventually relegated to Serie B at the end of the campaign.
Nambi joined Pomigliano CF at the start of last season on a one year contract and went on to score on her debut in a 3-2 defeat to Juventus.
She has been signed alongside former Juventus and Brighton & Hove Albion Danish defender Matilda Lundorf Skovsen acquired from Como FC.
Nambi was also linked to a move to Como FC last week before sealing her move to the Naples based club.
Nambi has played seven times for the Crested Cranes and was part of the squad that represented Uganda at the 2022 Women’s AFCON in Morocco in 2022.
She scored a brace on her Crested Cranes debut as Uganda thumped Zambia 5-0 in a friendly game played in Marrakech, Morocco.
The former St. Mary’s Kitende forward has previously played for Vaxjo DFF and Kalmar FF in the Swedish topflight league (Damallsvenskan) and also Dornbirn Ladies in Austria.
As a player, Nambi is a quick and versatile forward who primarily operates as a right winger but can ably play as a striker.
Societa Sportiva Dilettantistica Napoli Femminile, known as Napoli Femminile will be hoping for a better finish after finishing 9th on the league table of 10 teams last season.
