Holders West Nile, Buganda and Tooro storm FUFA Drum Quarterfinals

Tooro, Buganda, West Nile plus Busoga became the latest teams to qualify for the quarter finals of the fourth edition of the FUFA Drum tournament as the group stage games climaxed on Sunday 15th October.

Tooro Province defeated Buganda 1-0 at Kavumba Recreation grounds courtesy of Yahaya Luuti’s sole goal.

Buganda came in this encounter already sure of a quarter final slot after collecting two points in three games, they finished second in group D with six points one behind Tooro Province.

Bugisu Province failed to progress to the quarter finals despite defeating West Nile 2-0 in Mbale.

James Alitho and Usama Khayemba scored each for Bugisu that finished third with five points same as Busoga in the second position (Busoga had a superior goal difference).

West Nile topped group C with six points.

Busoga, Buganda, Tooro and West Nile join Teso, Acholi, Lango and Kigezi at the quarter finals.

Buganda (2018), Acholi (2019) and West Nile (2022/23) are the past winners of the FUFA Drum tournament.
