Tanzanian club appoints Moses Basena as head coach

Tanzania Premier league side Ihefu SC have appointed former Uganda Cranes assistant coach Moses Basena as their new head coach.

The Tanzanian side confirmed the development on Monday in a statement,

“Our club has reached an agreement with Ugandan Coach Moses Basena to lead our team as the Head Coach. Basena is a highly regarded coach in East Africa and will now head our technical bench.” Reads a statement from the club

Basena appointed as new Ihefu head coach

Basena replaces Zuber Katwila, who recently parted ways with the club.

He has recently been working as Milutin Sredojevic alias Micho’s assistant at the Uganda Cranes team.

Basena has also previously coached at Express FC, Simba SC in Tanzania, URA FC, The Saints, KCCA FC, UPDF FC and Rwanda’s Sunrise.

His new side gained topflight status in 2022/23 season and are currently eighth placed on the Tanzania Premier league log with six points in five games.
