FUFA officially confirmed Belgian tactician Paul Joseph Put as the next permanent Uganda Cranes head coach on Thursday.
The Federation appointed Put on two-year renewable contract and replaces Milutin Sredojevic alias Micho who was sacked in September this year.
Morley Byekwaso was in interim charge of the side last month during friendly games against Mali and Zambia.
Put spoke openly about his plan for the senior National side and his vision for the future.
“I first of all want to thank FUFA for the trust and confidence in giving me this job. I believe my knowledge about African football will help me to do a good job with the Uganda Cranes.”
“I have been following the Uganda Cranes especially the recent AFCON Qualifier match against Niger and the two friendly games against Mali and Zambia. Give me time, give me the confidence. You will see a different national team.” Said Put
His first task will come in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers when the Cranes will lock horns with Guinea and Somalia this month.
The Belgian tactician will work with five other people from Belgium and a Ugandan personnel
