Muhammad Shaban put up a brilliant performance as KCCA FC registered their first win of the season with a 3-1 victory over reigning champions Vipers SC on Friday.

The striker netted a brace before Usama Arafat added the other to give the Kasasiro Boys their first win of the campaign.

Abubakar Lawal found a consolation for the visitors.

KCCA FC who had lost their opening three league games at home this term to Maroons, Express FC and NEC FC put up a performance of their lives against the Venoms.

Shaban gave the home side an early lead in the second minute of the contest finishing a quality Haruna Lukwago cross.

Before Shaban’s goal, Abdul Karim Watambala came close to firing the visitors into the lead but his effort went inches over the bar.

KCCA FC skipper Julius Poloto who had just returned back was forced off in the 20th minute with a hamstring and replaced by Etienne Katenga.

In the 58th minute, Shaban doubled KCCA FC’s lead after being fed by Usama Arafat. Vipers SC custodian Jack Komakech looked like he had made a save but assistant Referee Timothy Gumisiriza signalled to the center Referee that the ball had fully crossed the line.

Usama extended the hosts lead in added time before Lawal pulled one.
