The Uganda Cricket Association has appointed John Walusimbi as their new Chief Executive Officer.
Walusimbi will now run the operations of the association following the resignation of Alan Mugume.
Mugume confirmed his resignation in December last year.
He had taken over the CEO role from Martin Ondeko in June 2022 but couldn’t finish his three-year employment contract.
Walusimbi comes at the time when the Uganda Cricket Association has an eventful year that wull see the Cricket Cranes take part at the 2024 T20 World Cup in the USA and West Indies for the first time in history.
The Victoria Pearls will also be aiming to progress to the World Cup in case they cruise at the Global Qualifiers in Dubai in April.
Meanwhile the Association recently unveiled Lyca Mobile as their partners. They joined Plascon who were unveiled in 2022.
