Ugandan coach Jackson Mayanja has signed a new two year contract with Rwanda Premier League side Sunrise FC.

The contract extension comes after Mayanja’s impressive run with the Nyagatare based club.

Mayanja found Sunrise FC at the bottom of the table in November when he signed a short term contract that was to end at the end of the season.

Since his arrival, Mayanja has been in charge of 12 games, winning five, drawing four and losing three, a performance that lifted Sunrise from the relegation zone to the 11th place on 22 points.

Mayanja’s recent performance has also elevated him to a nomination for the league’s best coach of the month for January.

Sunrise’s Ugandan forward Brian Ssali has also been nominated for the best goal of the month following his brilliant strike against Police FC.

Sunrise will host Nicholas Sebwato’s Mukura Victory Sports Club on Saturday 17th February in their next league game.
