Kitara FC complete elusive double over KCCA FC

Kitara FC completed a double over KCCA FC on under the floodlights of Lugogo on Friday.

Brian Ssenyondo coached side cruised to a 1-0 victory over the Lugogo based side.

Denis Omedi scored the all important goal in the 80th minute of the mouthwatering contest.

Kitara FC faithfuls stormed Lugogo to witness their team’s triumph over the 13 time Uganda Premier league champions.

The atmosphere was deafening in the lead up to kick-off as Kitara fans reminded their hosts that they were to complete an elusive double over Abdallah Mubiru coached side.

There was only one way to silence Kitara supporters and that was by scoring the opening goal. On form Muhammad Shaban and Etienne Katenga both had decent chances in the first period but failed to capitalize on them.

Jude Semugabi also came close for Kitara midway into the first half but his effort went inches wide.

In the second period, Shaban came close again but his effort went inches wide.

With the game seeming to end into a goalless draw, Omedi fired the visitors into the lead after Peter Magambo failed to clear the ball.

His goal was enough to maximize points for Kitara who stay second on the Uganda Premier league table two adrift of leaders BUL FC.

KCCA FC came into this game unbeaten at home in the previous five games, they had won four and drawn once. They next face off with NEC FC on Wednesday next week.
