UPDF FC’s woes have been extended this evening after being thrashed 3-1 by Express FC at Muteesa II stadium Wankulukuku.
The Red Eagles were responding to an embarrassing defeat suffered against KCCA FC when they threw away a 2 goal lead to lose 4-3 at home.
First half goals from Joshua Musoke, Kevin Sekimbegga and in form striker Isaac Waigona proved enough to disarm the army men.
Musoke’s goal came early in the 8th minute, followed by Sekimbegga’s 22nd strike and Waigona ensured the lead is stretched with just a minute left to the break.
Paul Kiwanuka’s men pulled one back late in additional time of the second period but it couldn’t save them from extending their winless streak to 13 matches.
They now sit at the bottom of the log with a meager 10 points collected out of 19 matches.
They will hope to instigate their battle to recovery when they host Busoga United at Bombo on March 9th.
Express’ victory has propelled them to 7th place with 29 points out of 29 outings.
They will return to action in the Uganda cup against BUL FC on March the 3rd.
Their next league encounter will come on March 9th against fierce rivals SC Villa.
