Kitara FC coach Wasswa Bbosa says his side need to maximize points against NEC FC at Royals Park in Butema on Saturday to put pressure on leaders Vipers in the Uganda Premier League title race.
Vipers drew 1-1 with URA FC on Friday at Kitende and Kitara must win to close the gap to three points heading into the final three games of the season.
Bbosa believe his side can maximize points against NEC who are unbeaten in the league since the 2-1 defeat against KCCA FC in December last year.
“We face a good opponent, but we have our target: to win and close the gap. The team is ready and knows what is at stake,” said Bbosa.
NEC FC’s Badru Kaddu asserts that his charges are prepared for the contest.
“We are very ready for the game away to Kitara who are ahead of us on the log and as the die hards we have an opportunity. We have moved being invicible and we hope to put up a very good show because we need it.” Said Kaddu
Kitara beat SC Villa 2-0 in their previous league game while NEC maximized points away to BUL FC on matchday 26.
The reverse fixture ended in a six goal thriller at Lugogo as the two sides shared spoils in a 3-3 draw.
Bbosa’s side will be without suspended goalkeeper Meddie Kibirige who received a two game suspension from FUFA for his incident against Vipers forward Milton Karisa weeks back but the rest of the squad is available.
