Ugandan referee selected for upcoming All Africa Games in Ghana

Ugandan assistant referee Ronald Katenya has been selected among referees for the forthcoming All Africa Games which will be held in Ghana early next month.

The games will be held between 8th March to 23rd in the cities of Accra, Kumasi and the Cape Coast.

Katenya is the only Ugandan referee named on a list of 48 referees who will oversee games at the continental event in Ghana.

Katenya who is an electrician by profession, is a FIFA Referee Badge holder since 2014.

He has been a referee at several tournaments like the CAF Champions League, CAF Confederation, AFCON Qualifiers, World Cup Qualifiers among others.

It should be noted that in football, Uganda will be represented by the Hippos and the Queen Cranes (U20 Teams) at this year’s All Africa Games.

The Queen Cranes which is the female U20 Team was pitted in Group A alongside hosts Ghana and CECAFA neighbors Ethiopia and Tanzania.

The Hippos which is the Men’s U20 Team will face off with Nigeria, Tunisia, Senegal and South Sudan in Group B.
