Express FC will begin life without Alex Isabirye Musongola when they travel to BUL FC in the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 32 tie at Njeru Technical centre on Tuesday.
Isabirye resigned from his role as the club head coach on 1st March citing poor management.
For starters, Isabirye is the most successful tactician in the history of the competition having guided Vipers SC, URA FC, SC Victoria University (defunct) and BUL FC to the Uganda Cup triumphs.
Express FC legend Hassan Mubiru will serve as interim head coach until the club finds a new permanent coach.
BUL FC who won the competition in 2022 will be without Reagan Kalyowa and Douglas Muganga due to respective injuries.
The Red Eagles will miss the services of Andrew Kawooya, Eddy Ssebandeke and Alpha Ssali. Captain Ramsey Kawooya returns to the side after missing the previous games through injury.
The two sides played to a 1-1 stalemate in their previous league game at Wankulukuku.
Express have won the Uganda Cup a 10th joint record time whereas BUL FC’s only success in the competition came two years ago.
