Uganda Premier league giants SC Villa are expected to ditch their head coach Morley Byekwaso after unsuccessful 2024/25 season.

Swift Sports Uganda understands that senior SC Villa officials have been alarmed by the club’s performances in the just concluded season, which saw them fail to retain their league title, and they are ready to make a change in their technical staff.

This website has also established that current head coach Byekwaso can only stay at Villa as an assistant with the record Uganda Premier league champions targeting a foreign appointment this window.

Byekwaso has a year left on his current contract replaced Serbian tactician Dusan Stojanovic at the helm last year. The Serbian coach left the Jogoos months after guiding them to a record extending 17th league title.

SC Villa finished sixth on the Uganda Premier league table with 45 points, 24 adrift of champions Vipers SC. They were also eliminated by Vipers at the quarterfinal stage of the Uganda Cup.

Key players such as skipper Ronald Ssekiganda and Patrick Jonah Kakande who were vital in their 2023/24 league triumph are on the exit door. Ssekiganda has already joined Rwanda’s APR FC pending official confirmation while Kakande is unlikely to extend his stay.
