SC Villa will be boosted by the return of the trio of Patrick Jonah Kakande, Cyrus Kibande and Abasi Kyeyune when they travel to Masindi Municipal Stadium to face Kitara FC in the epic Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 16 tie on Sunday.
The trio was with the Uganda U-20 National team in Ethiopia for the Dire Dawa Cup which led to the postponement of their favorite fixtures against Vipers SC and BUL FC.
Kitara FC are currently top of the Uganda Premier league table and will be aiming to progress further in the Uganda Cup.
For SC Villa, they are seeking their first Uganda Cup glory since 2015 when they humbled KCCA FC 3-0 at Mandela National Stadium in Namboole.
Dusan Stojanovic’s men have previously won the competition 9 times and will be targeting to reach quarterfinal stage to boost their chances of Uganda Cup glory.
In the league this season, Kitara beat SC Villa 2-1 in the first round at Wankulukuku before settling for a 1-1 draw in Masindi during the second round meeting.
Kitara will be without Benjamin Nyakoojo who continues with his recovery while Jude Semugabi is likely to feature. Jasper Aheebwa also returns to the side.
