SC Villa completed a double over their arch-rivals Express FC with a 1-0 victory at Wankulukuku.
This is the second successive season that the record Uganda Premier league side have smiled to a double over the Red Eagles.
The Red Eagles were under their new head coach Baker Mbowa who replaced Alex Isabirye this week.
Charles Lwanga netted the all important goal for SC Villa in the 21st minute after being fed by Hakim Kiwanuka.
SC Villa are now 4th on the UPL table with 33 points and seven adrift of leaders Kitara FC but with two games in hand.
In the other game at Bombo Military Barracks Grounds, UPDF FC returned to winning ways with a 2-0 win over Busoga United.
Brian Kalumba and Ezekiel Katende scored in either half to earn the army side maximum points. They are now on 13 points and stay second from the bottom.
Busoga United on the other hand are 14th with 16 points.
Meanwhile, NEC FC returned to winning ways with a narrow 1-0 win away to Gaddafi FC.
Victory takes NEC into 3rd place with 34 points while Gaddafi remain in the relegation mix with 18 points in 13th place.
