NEC FC completed a double over Maroons FC after a 2-1 victory at MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo on Wednesday.
Joseph Dhata and Allan Mugalu scored for Hussein Mbalangu’s side in the first period of the contest.
Isaac Mpagi found a consolation for the visitors in the second half.
Dhata calmly converted from the spot to give the home side the lead after a foul on Cromwell Rwothomio in the 29th minute.
Mugalu doubled their advantage in the 39th minute.
The visitors found a consolation in the final minute of normal time.
NEC FC move to third place on the Uganda Premier league table on 37 points and are three points adrift of leaders Kitara FC. They will next travel to Wakiso Giants on 29th March.
Maroons FC stay sixth on the log with 31 points and will next host Express FC on 28th March.
