FUFA entrusts experienced referee to take charge of Drum final

FIFA badge holder Mashood Ssali has been appointed as center referee for the FUFA Drum Final between Busoga and Lango.

Busoga and Lango will battle for glory on Saturday, 23rd March at MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

Ssali will be assisted by Hakim Mulindwa and Musisi Brianson.

Shamirah Nabadda will be the fourth official while Brian Miiro Nsubuga is the referees assessor for the mouthwatering contest at Lugogo.

Road to Final

Lango Province:

They were Finalists in the third edition and began their journey at group stage. They were placed in group B with Kigezi and Kampala provinces.

Lango finished top of the group with 10 points to secure a quarterfinal meeting with Acholi province.

They beat Acholi 2-0 away in Kitgum in the first leg before securing a semifinal slot in at home with a 1-1 draw in Lira, advancing 3-1 on aggregate.

Busoga Province:

They commenced their journey in the qualification round against Karamoja province and managed to negotiate the encounter with double wins at home and away, 4-1 and 1-3 respectively, to progress 7-2 on aggregate.

Busoga finished second in Group C that had West Nile and Bugisu with five points, one behind leaders West Nile.

In the Quarterfinals, Busoga eliminated Tooro Province on penalties after a 4-4 aggregate score.

They faced their neighbors Teso province and dominated the two legs, winning 2-1 and 1-0 in Teso and Kamuli, respectively, progressing to the final 3-1 on aggregate.
