Mbarara City head coach Charles Livingstone Mbabazi has opened up about the major cause of his addiction to alcohol.

The former Vipers SC tactician asserted on his social media platforms that he has been living a life of lies ever since the death of his wife ten years ago and that has led to his problems with alcohol.

“I want to apologize to any I have offended and wronged in my life, especially the coaches, chairmen of clubs, the fans and among others . I have been living a life of lies since my wife passed away ten years ago, I have been drinking a lot to forget her but I have to accept that she died and I move on and be a better dad to mi children.”

Noted Mbabazi before thanking those that have rendered him support during the horrendous times

“This comes from the bottom of my heart to thank anyone who has supported me and gave me opportunities to work for them during my condition and during those tough times and except me as a new man. It’s not going to be easy but I am ready for the new challenge.

“The change or new me, it’s for my family not any one else and I still need your support and prayers during my transformation.” Said Mbabazi

Since retiring from active football, the former Uganda Cranes international has coached several clubs in Lweza (coach player), Masavu, Wakiso Giants, Onduparaka, Kyetume, Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), Arua Hill, Vipers and currently Mbarara City.
