Alex Isabirye Musongola has tipped Brian Ssenyondo’s Kitara FC to lift the Uganda Premier League title this season.
Kitara currently lead the Uganda Premier league table with 43 points and will next host second placed BUL FC on Friday at Masindi Municipal Stadium.
Speaking with Bukedde TV, the former Vipers SC and BUL FC head coach said Kitara have more chances to clinch the title this term.
‘I think Kitara FC have more chances of winning the league title this season. If they remain consistent and keep concentration. The good thing is that they have prepared their players well and that’s why they have 80% chances lift the title this season.”
Isabirye also revealed why his former side BUL FC tend to struggle in the second round of the season
“BUL FC has good players but their problem is after performing well in first round they tend to look for new players to add in the team ahead of the second round. So, they end up releasing some of the players that had mastered the tactics from the coaches in the first round. The new players they add to their squad come from teams that they are beaten in the first round.” Said Isabirye
Last season, Isabirye became the first coach to guide Vipers SC to the Uganda Premier league and Stanbic Uganda Cup double.
When he won the Cup double at Vipers last season, Isabirye joined Geoff Hudson (SC Villa), Polly Ouma (SC Villa), Mike Mutebi(KCCA FC), Jimmy Muguwa(Express FC and Milutin Sredojevic alias Micho (SC Villa) who had previously cruised to the same success.
