Calvary FC could become the first team to be relegated from the Uganda Premier League this week, if results go against them.

Calvary are bottom on the League table with 13 points they have garnered in 26 games this term.

Should Calvary lose their game to Police FC on Wednesday and if Mbarara City currently on 20 points and UPDF FC with 21 points win their respective fixtures this week, the Yumbe based club would officially be relegated with three games to the climax of the season.

Calvary would only finish with 22 points in case they win their remaining matches which would not be enough to beat the drop.

This season, two sides will be relegated from the topflight and four will join from the FUFA Big League making a total of 18 teams next term.

They host sixth placed Police on Tuesday seeking their third league victory of the season after wins against Buhimba United Saints and KCCA FC.

The Cops make a long trip to Yumbe without five players who are goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga, Lawrence Tezikya is unavailable due to family reasons while van Eyamu, Daniel Otto, and Derrick Maviri remain on the sidelines.

Matia Lule’s charges beat UPDF FC 2-0 in their previous league game and are also eyeing a double over Calvary having won the first round meeting 2-0 at Kira Road Arena.
