The four semi finalists in Girls Football of the 2024 UMEA Solidarity Games have been determined.
The four include Kawempe Muslim A, Kawempe Muslim B, Kakungulu High School and the hosts Masaka Secondary School.
This follows the successful completion of the group stages whereby Kawempe Muslim A and Masaka SS finished as the winners of Group A and Group B with maximum points respectively.
Kawempe Muslim A thrashed debutants Kabukunge Muslim 24-0, beat Kakungulu High 4-1 and wrapped up the group with an easy 12-0 win over Kinaawa High School – Kawempe.
Agnes Nabukenya who scored 14 goals in the 24-0 drubbing of Kabukunge Muslim, scored five goals in the final group game against Kinaawa High School.
Vanessa Namazzi (brace), Sharifah Nakimera (brace), Shadia Nabirye, goalkeeper Haira Nabbosa and an own goal completed the rout.
Kawempe Muslim A will face off with Kawempe Muslim B which is the school’s junior side to determine which team qualifies to this year’s final.
The other semi final will be between host Masaka SS and Group A runners up Kakungulu High School.
Both games will be played at mid day at Recreation Ground and the Mpungu Arena respectively.
It should be noted that Kawempe Muslim A won last year’s championship after beating the Kawempe Muslim B Team 1-0 in the final at Kawanda.
