Hussein Mbalangu’s position as NEC FC head coach could be untenable at the end of the current Uganda Premier league season.
Despite a bright start in their debut season in the Uganda Premier league, NEC FC hierarchy believe Wakiso Giants’ John Ayala Luyinda is best option to guide the team greater success next season if they decide to part ways with Mbalangu.
Swift Sports Uganda understands that Ayala and NEC FC are close to reaching a compromise.
Mbalangu replaced Michael Skills Lukyamuzi who led the team to the topflight.
Meanwhile Ayala’s coaching path roots from KCCA where he worked with Abdullah Mubiru and later at Police FC.
As a footballer, Ayala played for Kampala United for Water FC, SC Villa and KCCA FC.
NEC FC are currently fifth on the Uganda Premier league table with 37 points and Uganda Cup quarterfinalists.
They will next host table leaders Kitara FC on Thursday night at MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.
