Mawokota appoint Bogere as Malinga’s replacement

The management team of Mawokota Ssaza team have appointed Steven Bogere as their new head coach.

The three time Masaza Cup winners confirmed Bogere’s appointment via their social media platforms.

Two time winners Buddu Ssaza were also interested in Bogere’s signature to replace Simon Peter Mugerwa.

Bogere replaces Richard Malinga who has been managed Mawokota for the previous four years.

He comes with a vast of experience in the prestigious Buganda Masaza Cup having previously led Buddu to the 2016 and 2021 triumphs.

Bogere has also handled SC Villa, UPDF, Proline, defunct Victoria University and lately Onduparaka FC.

Mawokota are three time Masaza Cup winners following their success in 2005, 2007 and 2013.

During the 2023 edition, their journey ended at the semifinal stage by eventual winners Bulemeezi.
