Former Cranes winger reveals how Express FC fans beat his agent for allowing him join SC Villa

Former Uganda Cranes winger Dan Wagaluka has revealed that Express FC fans beat his agent for allowing him join their arch-rivals SC Villa.

While appearing on YouTube Channel Uganda fan TV, Wagaluka outlined how his move to Express fall through and he joined SC Villa.

“Express wanted to sign me and I remember it was Hon.Geoffrey Lutaaya who drove me from Iganga to Lweza so that I sign for them club.” The move fall through due to Express FC management failure to give me a sign on of ten million shillings by then. They also told me to first feature for Citizen school team then I sign and I was like I cannot return into school football.”

“I decided to go back to Iganga but on my way back, SC Villa officials found me at Mabira Forest and they told me to return to Kampala and took me direct to Hajji Omar Mandela, he gave me money and I signed the contract.”

Said Wagaluka before adding,

“After joining SC Villa, my coach Gayige Jesus Muliki who was acting as my agent was badly beaten by Express FC fans at Nakivubo blue. The fans claimed that he allowed me join their rivals SC Villa.”

At SC Villa, Wagaluka won three league titles and the 2005 CECAFA Kagame Cup.

Wagaluka began his football career at Iganga Town Council before joining SC Villa. He also featured for AFC Leopards, APR Kigali, URA FC, Azam, Lweza, Water FC, Maroons, Soana and Nyamityobora.

He is also probably the only Ugandan that has ever played against Liverpool. This was in August, 2008 during trials with Scottish Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Despite impressing on his trials, the Ugandan couldn’t join the Scottish side due to work permit issues.

He also made 57 appearances for the Uganda National team, scoring seven goals.
