David GOMBE
Record Buganda Masaza Cup winners Gomba have named Frank Mulindwa as their new head coach ahead of the 2024 tournament.
Mulindwa replaces Felix Ssekabuza who was appointed as Buwekula Ssaza team head coach.
Ironically, Mulindwa has been serving at Buwekula for the last three Masaza Cup campaigns and he is remembered for guiding them to the 2021 final losing 2-0 to Buddu.
He will be assisted by Frank Kitindide and Ben Kalama has been appointed as the goalkeepers coach.
Former Vipers SC head coach Edward Golola who was destined to join two time winners Ssingo has now been appointed as the Technical Director at Gomba.
Golola is former Masaza Cup winning coach with Mawokota whom he led to the 2013 crown when they overcame Ssingo in the final that was held at Nakivubo Stadium.
Gomba finished as runners up last year after losing 1-0 to Bulemeezi in the final that was played at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku.
This year they will be aiming to clinch their sixth title having previously won it in 2004, 2009, 2014, 2017 and 2020.
