RWANDA: Taddeo Lwanga wins league title with unbeaten APR

Taddeo Lwanga’s APR FC has today won the 2023/24 Rwanda Premier League with three games to play.

This follows their 1-0 win over Kiyovu Sports at the King Pele Stadium courtesy of Gilbert Mugisha’s lone goal.

The Uganda Cranes midfielder featured in the encounter and ensured the Army side clinch their 5th consecutive league title.

Lwanga joined the Rwandan giants at the start of the season from Djibouti’s AS Arta Solar 7 on a one year contract.

He subsequently played an instrumental role that has seen APR win a record extending 22nd league title.

APR have a 12-point gap with the second placed Rayon Sport with only three games remaining.

They have 63 points from 27 outings having won 18 times and drew the other nine to emerge unbeaten thus far.

As a player, Lwanga has previously won a league title in Uganda with Vipers SC and in Tanzania with Simba SC.
