St Mary’s Kitende cruised to the round of 16 of the 2024 USSSA Boys’ National football championship after eliminating St Charles Lwanga 2-0 in the round of 32.
The 11 time competition winners needed first half goals from their starman Denis Kisiriko and Hussein Kizza to prevail.
Jinja SS needed a 4-2 shootout win to eliminate joint record competition winners Kibuli SS. The two sides had played out to a goalless stalemate in normal time.
Last year’s runners St Henry’s College Kitovu bowed out at the round of 32 after a shootout defeat to Masaka SS.
Masaka SS advanced 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 stalemate in normal time.
In the other round of 32 tie, Standard High Zzana beat Mentor Secondary 2-1 courtesy Amok Kemis Hamed and Benon Lutaaya goals while Nuwamanya Christian found a consolation for Mentor.

Kisozi Seed needed a Ssemaganda Gedion sole strike to overcome Old Kampala.
Amus College continued to impress with a 5-0 thrashing of Paidha while Buddo SS eliminated Bukedea Comprehensive 1-0 to reach the last 16.
