SC Villa kept their hopes of winning the league title with a comfortable 2-0 win away to relegation bound UPDF on Saturday.
Patrick Jonah Kakande and Hakim Kiwanuka netted in either half for the record Uganda Premier league champions.
Kakande fired the visitors into a deserved lead in the 13th minute after being fed by Ronald Ssekiganda.
The Jogoos could have scored more in the first period but were denied by UPDF custodian Richard Anyama.
Hakim Kiwanuka secured maximum points for Villa in the 87th minute.
Victory keeps Villa’s title aspirations alive and are now third on the league log with 51 points, one behind leaders BUL FC.
SC Villa will next face URA FC and NEC FC.
UPDF’s survival hopes were dented and must now win against Maroons and Wakiso Giants to have any chance of staying up.
