Maybe Jackson Magera’s luck has finally turned. After a poor run to his career as KCCA FC interim coach with defeats against BUL FC and URA respectively.

The Kasasiro boys needed a 2-1 win to overcome Kaaro Karungi in the Stanbic Uganda Cup Quarterfinals on Saturday at Kyamate Stadium.

Derrick Nsibambi and Usama Arafat goals in either half were enough to seal Magera’s side progress to the semifinal of the competition.

Nsibambi gave the visitors the lead three minutes to halftime when his deflected header hit the back of the net.

The second period was delayed due to a heavy downpour at Kyamate playground.

Clinton Kamugisha found the leveller for the home side three minutes after the recess.

Usama restored KCCA FC’s advantage in the 59th minute as the 10-time competition winners became the first side to progress to the semis.

Meanwhile, action will resume tomorrow when holders Kitara take on BUL FC for a place in the semifinals while SC Villa will make a trip to Kitende to face off with Vipers SC on Easter Monday.

The quarterfinal stage will climax on Tuesday with a contest between Police FC and Kataka FC.
